Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2, 2026

Agreement to Terms

By using Casefold, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. We may update these terms from time to time — continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

What Casefold Does

Casefold is a case preparation tool. You upload custody case documents, and our AI organizes them by surfacing claims, grouping evidence, and building a timeline. You can share your organized case with an attorney.

What Casefold Does Not Do

Casefold is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.

  • AI-generated claims and organization are for preparation purposes only.
  • Nothing in Casefold should be interpreted as legal advice, strategy, or recommendation.
  • Casefold does not make findings of fact or legal conclusions.
  • You should consult a licensed attorney before making legal decisions based on your case materials.
  • The accuracy of AI analysis is not guaranteed — always verify with your attorney.

Your Account

  • You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
  • You may not share your account credentials with others.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to use Casefold.

Your Data

You own your data. The documents you upload, the responses you write, and the case information you provide belong to you. We store and process your data solely to provide the service to you. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload content that you do not have the legal right to share.
  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to access other users' data or accounts.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse the service.
  • Use automated tools to access the service without our permission.

Payments and Refunds

Some features require payment. Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscription plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time through your account settings. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact us if you believe a charge was made in error.

Attorney Accounts

Attorneys using Casefold are responsible for their own professional obligations. Casefold does not create an attorney-client relationship between attorneys and parents using the platform. Attorneys access cases only when explicitly invited by a parent or when the attorney initiates a case and invites their client.

Service Availability

We strive to keep Casefold available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, updates, or experience outages. We are not liable for any loss resulting from service unavailability.

Limitation of Liability

Casefold is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Casefold and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to outcomes of legal proceedings.

Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from within the app. Upon deletion, your case data will be permanently removed within 30 days. We may retain anonymized usage data. We may also terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Sacramento County, California.
